Ik vind het heerlijk om in vrije vorm kralen te rijgen. Nu nog maar weer een armband.

Bead Journal Project 2014 - maart / March.

Dit is mijn maart kralenwerk voor Bead Journal Project 2014.

This is my BJP 2014 March project.

 De maart broche is wat somber van kleur omdat het officieel nog winter is (ondanks het mooie weer dat al dagen aanhoudt.
The March brooch is a little dark because officially it is still winter (in spite of the nice weather for days already)

De ondergrond is zelfgemaakt vilt. De broch is ongeveer 6 cm in doorsnee.

The base is home made felt. The brooch is about 6 cm.

Een snelle broche voor Irma. A quick brooch for Irma.

In twee uurtjes maakte ik deze broche. Een blauwe golf.

In two hours i made this brooch. A blue wave.

De sluiting lijkt wat grof, maar hij is effectief en onzichtbaar aan de voorkant.

The pin looks a bit crude, but it is affective and invisible in the front.

Armband voor Sevim. Bracelet for Sevim.

Sevim kreeg een armband van mij. Ze wilde graag een kleurrijke armband, zonder geel erin. Sevim got a bracelet from me. She liked to have a colourful one, without yellow in it.

De lus die om de kralen-kraal moet als sluiting, was wat kaal. Toen heb ik wat versiering aangebracht.

The loop to go aound the beaded bead was a little empty, so I embellished it a little.

 Afrikaans kralenwerk stond bijna de hele reis centraal. Een beetje rommelig? Ach niet overal is het zo aangeharkt als in Nederland...

African bead work was one of my leading themes. A bit wonky? Well, not all countries are so tidied up as The Netherlands...

Dit soort bomen in de savanna vind ik erg typerend.

Armband met spiralen. Bracelet with spirals

Geïnspreerd door de blog van Brigitte Iländer ben ik aan het experimenteren geslagen met haken met kralen. Eerst was de draad te dik maar het systeem werd me duidelijk. De tweede poging was met een dunnere draad en twee kleuren kralen. De draad is nog wat te dik en de kleur ervan kan beter, maar het resultaat is een gehaakte armband met kralen in spiralen.

Inspired by Birgitte Iländers blog I started experimenting with bead crochet. In my first attempt I used a thread that was too thick but I did understand the system. In my second attempt I used a thinner thread and two colours of beads. The thread is still too thick and next time I will use a better colour, but the result is a bead crochet bracelet with spirals.

 Ik heb lang nagedacht over de sluiting en vond de magnetische sluitingen die ik zag niet mooi, toen heb ik de armband maar in één geheel gemaakt.

I had a long thought about the lock but didn't like the magnetic ones I saw. Then I just sew both ends together.
